A health profession concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, and the effects of these disorders on the function of the nervous system and general health.
In Illinois, chiropractors are considered primary care physicians, on a par with osteopaths and medical doctors, with the exception that they are not trained nor authorized to use drugs or surgery.
